Southern Indian Gastronomical Delight

Travelers visiting capital does not have to worry about getting the food which they love. From historical eateries on the street to restaurant and five-star hotel the city is a paradise for foodie’s. The city offers unlimited option for people visiting capital when it comes to food. From traditional Indian cuisine to world- famous it has got all. Diversity in food that it offers is nowhere to be seen from Mughlai to Punjabi and other traditional Indian dish.


Majority of food stall in capital is famous for dishes such as choole bathure, chicken tandori, Butter chicken.  These all have Punjabi and Mughlai touch in them. There is a constant change in the evolution of food because the city has been invaded by rulers such as Lodhi’s, Mughal’s. These all invaders had a great impact on the cuisine of Delhi. After partition settlement of Punjabi’s in different parts of the city also has a great impact on cuisine.

Gradually people from different parts of the country started settling in Delhi because of its capital status. Now, one can find people from eastern and southern India settled. These people have come with their food. Due to this at present there are several south Indian food in Delhi.  These are famous for their variety of dishes they serve.

These not only serve the traditional dishes but also invent many of them so that people does not get bored eating. Dishes like Masala dosa and Uttapam has been among the favorite one and reinventing of these dishes had made them favorite among the people.  Idli, Sambhar and Coconut chutney are other delicacy’s that is hugely famous among the people.

One could find many roadside stall serving these Southern Indian dishes easily found in the city. Areas in the proximity of old Delhi which are mainly famous for their Mughali dishes are now commonly seen serving South Indian dishes. Restaurants in Karol Bagh are becoming huge popular among the people for their south Indian dishes they serve. These eating locations which are mostly famous for their North Indian dishes are now becoming famous for Southern Indian dishes.
